It's a Youth Week celebration from 4pm to 10pm at Black Beach, Kiama - with youth stalls, food trucks, live music, short films and the feature film Shrek under the stars, a vintage car show and community art.
It's in conjunction with The NSW Government Festival of Place - Summer Fund, SENTRAL Youth Services, Kiama District Stronger Communities, Destination Kiama, and a talented team of youth!
Bring along a picnic rug and cosy up on the lawn - there will be popcorn, great eats and bean bags for hire.
While this is a FREE event, the movie under the stars will be ticketed per current requirements. FREE tickets will be available via Eventbrite.
Steampunk Inspired Contraptions
Wollongong
Meet Saxon Reynolds who has 88 steampunk-inspired creations at Wollongong Art Gallery, made from the "tonnes of stuff" he inherited from his late father.
The Wunderkammer exhibition runs until July. Saxon will in the gallery creating pieces and chatting to people on these dates: Saturday 24 April, 12-2pm, Saturday 8 & Sunday 9 May 12-2pm, Sunday 23 May 12-2pm, Saturday 5 & Sunday 6 June 12-2pm, Sunday 20 June 12-2pm.
Kids Only Movie
Saturday, Warrawong
Warrawong Plaza have organised a fully supervised movie screening of Peter Rabbit 2 for the kids while parents enjoy time to themself - 11am to 2pm.
This event is fully supervised and no adults, aside from event staff, will be allowed into the cinema. Children will be accompanied by event staff throughout the entire movie.
Each child will receive a goodie bag, a small popcorn and bottle of water.
It's at Hoyts Warrawong, $24.95 - NSW Dine & Discover vouchers are accepted. Age Limit: KIDS ONLY event, 5 year olds to 12 year olds only.

In this 'zippertastic' workshop you will learn how to reuse and repurpose your textiles into a small bag and a cushion.
Master the art in inserting and reusing a zipper while you minimise waste and help save the environment.
BYO: a zipper foot that works with your sewing machine, sewing scissors, ins, measuring tape, a cushion insert or stuffing to reuse, and any textile items with zippers that you would like to repurpose.

Kiama Record Fair

The quarterly Kiama Record Fair is to be held at the Masonic Lodge Kiama, 46 Collins Street, in between the Terrace Houses and Hindmarsh Park.
On from 10am to 4pm the hall will have thousands of records new and old, merch and lots of record sellers and cratediggers dancing to the rock, jazz, synth and other sounds.
All genres are covered for you to have a covid-safe, physically distanced cratedig in over 20,000 vinyl records.

Climate Camp Out

From 11am, WF Jackson Park in Thirroul will have FREE family friendly activities, live music and speakers on climate change - including Professor Tim Flannery.
"It's a day of love and rage: kids activities, letter-writing, an extinct species graveyard, a Mud Fun musical mud stomp," organisers say.
They will also be calling on the federal government to declare a climate emergency and set a target of zero net emissions by 2030.

Pedal in the Park

A festival celebrating cycling at MacCabe Park on from 8am to 12pm with live music, biking tips and tricks, bike stallholders, and coffee and food vans - with a free bike bell available for visitors.
There'll also be stage entertainment including DJ Davertainment and the Pockets Trio, games, giveaways, and bike education with Ride Nation. There will also be How-to presentations by Giant Wollongong, and coffee and food available to enjoy.
From 10am to 2pm the fun continues with Laughter House Entertainment's unicycle ballet and sideshow performances in the Crown Street Mall.

Community Garden Open Day

Check out what the community garden at Thirroul is all about, from 10am to 3pm. It's on the corner of Lawrence Hargrave Drive and High Street in Thirroul - behind the big palm tree.
Market stalls, music, handmade soup and workshops.
There'll be garden tours, a mud mixing workshop at 11am, up-cycled art workshop at 12pm, a "no dig" garden bed workshop at 1pm, and a Bokashi workshop at 2pm.
Poetry By The Sea

It's a program of poetry workshops and readings 10am - 230pm at The Pavilion, presented by the South Coast Writers Centre and Kiama Council.
Drawing Down the Muse: Encountering the Unconscious through Expressive Writing - 10am-12.30pm
Join poet Ivy Ireland as she explores methods of integrating unconscious elements of the psyche into the process of writing poetry. The focus of this workshop will be on practical writing exercises using automatic and expressive writing techniques, while also looking at examples of artistic inspiration in the work of prominent poets.
Open Reading with Ivy Ireland - 1pm-2.30pm
Workshop participants are encouraged to join the open reading and share what they learned, however all poetry lovers are also invited to attend and watch.
